Human expression above all

Laurent Dachet, known as Laudac, paints human expressions through faces, looks or anguished bodies which sometimes strike by their violence or by their great delicacy.

A practising architect and passionate collector, he lives in the Paris region surrounded by a multitude of works of art : close to this source of relief, in his studio, he creates strong and expressive works.

The artist also transforms books and envelopes into works of art. He is pressent in “L’imagier singulier de François Jauvion”.

“I immediately liked Laudac’s powerful and desperate expressionism. Sometimes there is hope and often delicacy.

He has a great mastery of the creative gesture which comes from his profession as an architect. But on canvas, paper or any recycled support he finds (old books, postcards, encyclopaedic cards…) he deploys a gesture free of any constraint: the magic can then operate.

The more you look, the more you feel these different emotions, despair and hope, power and delicacy. I am never indifferent.”
